Many Ways to Make a Difference.

Give So They Can Live ...

That's a simple way of explaining just how important your gift is to us at the Lewis Clark Animal Shelter. Your donation helps us save and improve the lives of thousands of animals who need help.

We are successful in our efforts each year to save lives and ensure the future of thousands of pets in need, but this work requires a major financial commitment. Charitable donations are of great importance when it comes to funding our operating needs.

Our 2007 operating budget is $1 million. The percentage of our budget met through adoption and clinic-related fees paid by members of the public who utilize our services is just under 25 percent. The remaining $750,000 must come from charitable support from people like you who truly care about animals. Please make your donation now by completing the requested information below. Your donation will be processed through our secure server.

Q- What is the difference between the Lewis Clark Animal Shelter and other animal welfare organizations that solicit funds from me through the mail (such as Humane Society of the United States, PETA, American Humane, ASPCA, Best Friends, etc.)?

A - While all these organizations work to help animals, what sets LCAS apart from the national organizations is that we operate a local shelter that receives and houses animals with a trackable health care and adoption program. LCAS works directly with members of the Lewis Clark Valley community to find homes for homeless pets, help increase the value of companion animals, stop abuse and neglect, and solve training and behavior difficulties.  Every cent donated to Lewis Clark Animal Shelter stays in the valey to improve the plight of animals here.

Q If I make a gift to a national organization, does LCAS receive a portion of my donation?

A - No, currently there are no national organizations that financially support local shelters. LCAS is a non-profit independent organization funded solely by the voluntary donations of individuals and businesses in this community. Funding for LCAS's services and programs is received in the form of cash donations, bequests, trusts and endowments, and fees.

Q How can I help?

A - Let us count the ways - LCAS greatly appreciates donations of cash, time, and items. The Lewis Clark Animal Shelter is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization and your donation is tax-deductible as allowed by law. Your financial support helps us maintain and even expand the programs and services we offer to the community. LCAS's programs would not exist without the generous support from our own community.

Carry on your compassion for animals

  • Memorial Giving

They are devoted companions who give us their unconditional love and acceptance. For a pet caregiver, the loss of an animal friend can be one of life's most difficult experiences.

Making a donation to The LCAS is a personal way to honor the memory of a pet or person—a kindred spirit. This meaningful gesture will keep the spirit of a lost loved one alive, while helping all animals.

The LCAS will send a card of sympathy to the person or family you designate, acknowledging your thoughtful donation.

As a lasting tribute, the name of the deceased will be added to the engraved memorial board at the Lewis Clark Animal Shelter.

  • Workplace Giving

Planned Account Withdrawals (PAWS)

Looking for a convenient way to make monthly donations to LCAS? Try our Planned Account Withdrawal System (PAWS) Monthly Giving Program.

Simply tell us how much you want to donate each month and whether it should come from your checking or credit card account. Then, LCAS will automatically withdraw your gift on the 15th of each month (if the 15th falls on a weekend or holiday, the withdrawal will occur on the next regular business day). It's that easy-no return envelopes, checks, postage, or piles of receipts. Your monthly statements list your tax-deductible contributions and of course, you can cancel your PAWS contribution at any time, simply by notifying LCAS.

We know you want to help the animals and support the programs of the Lewis Clark Animal Shelter and that you expect your contributions to be used effectively without waste. We understand that convenience is a premium in your busy life. That's why we think you'll like our Planned Account Withdrawal program. PAWs enables you to make convenient, monthly donations, automatically.

How it Works
You chose whether to use your checking account or credit card to make your donation. Then, on the 15th of each month, your gift is automatically withdrawn from your checking account or billed to the credit card. That's it. Easy and simple, no checks or postage. Of course, you can cancel your PAWs contribution at any time by notifying the Lewis Clark Animal Shelter

What to Do
1. Print this authorization form.
2. Select an amount you would like to contribute each month. Because of processing costs, we suggest a minimum gift of five dollars.
3. Choose your giving method, checking account or credit card, and sign the appropriate line. IMPORTANT:  to give via checking account we need your voided check for the account and banking system information it contains. Just write "VOID" across the check's face and include it with the agreement.
4. Lastly, please fill in the lines for you name, phone number and address.

That's all there is. Return the agreement (and voided check if you selected the checking option) to LCAS and enjoy the good feeling that comes from knowing that you're helping to make our Valley a safer place for animals.
